Spotlight on the Arts
Arts classrooms are full of energy, creativity, and sometimes a bit of chaos. The Spotlight on the Arts workshops offer teachers simple, effective ways to turn that energy into focus and learning. If you’re on the struggle bus, this session is for you!
Part 1: Foundations for Confident Arts Teaching
w/MAD2 consultants
Participants will explore practical strategies for teaching the arts, even without formal training. Through guided demonstrations and shared techniques, they will learn how to establish routines that stick, use voice and posture with confidence, manage classroom dynamics, and keep lessons moving with smooth transitions. Whether the subject is drama, music, visual arts, or dance, teachers will leave with a toolkit of adaptable methods to make arts instruction more joyful and less stressful.
Part 2: Collaborative Routine Design Lab
w/MAD2 consultants
In the second half, participants will work together in small groups to design classroom routines tailored to their own teaching contexts. Building on the strategies from Part 1, they will brainstorm, refine, and share routines that encourage creativity, structure, and student independence. By the end, educators will leave not only with new ideas but also with practical routines they can use right away. The result is a classroom that feels less chaotic and more inspiring for both teacher and students.
